Dear Exeter Families,

Due to road conditions, Exeter will hold VIRTUAL INSTRUCTION on Tuesday, January 27th. As a reminder, students will NOT report to school on Tuesday. Instead, they will:

  • Complete an attendance form no later than 10:30AM. The K-6 attendance form can be completed by students or parents. The 7-12 attendance form can be completed only by students who are logged into their Exeter Google account
  • Complete assigned work
  • Please review FID instructions and find your attendance form on our website at: https://exetersd.org/fid

Teachers will communicate their assignments, due dates and optional virtual meeting times to students in Schoology. These will be posted by 9AM on Tuesday morning.

Students can log into Schoology by signing into their Chromebook using their Exeter Google credentials. If your student is unsure of his/her Exeter Google email and password, parents can access this information in Skyward by clicking on "Portfolio" along the left side of the screen and then finding the "Student Password Report." Once logged in, they should select the "Schoology" link and they should be automatically signed in--no password is needed. If this process doesn't work, please try to reboot the Chromebook before contacting our IT Department. Should this problem persist, or if you have any other log in or technology issues, please leave a message with our IT Department and someone will return your call: 610-898-9585.

If you or your student have any questions or concerns regarding his/her assignments, teachers will be available throughout the school day by email, ParentSquare messages and phone. All teachers can be found and messaged in ParentSquare (if you haven’t used this feature before, please see detailed laptop/computer and app directions here: http://bit.ly/40S83U5). If you would like to call a teacher, please make sure to leave a voicemail with the best number to reach you and the teacher will return your call as soon as possible.

If your student is sick or unable to complete assignments due to an internet or power issue, please contact your child’s school:

FAQs

What is a virtual learning day (otherwise known as a FID)?

Virtual learning allows students to complete both an attendance log and all assigned work from home during a school day that may otherwise be canceled, such as when it snows or when there's a building emergency.

What are my student's expectations during a virtual day?

Teachers will post schoolwork for students on Schoology by 9AM on the virtual learning day (please allow extra time during a day that is first delayed and then becomes virtual). Students will then complete and submit their assignments to their teacher as directed.

How will the district know that my student "attended" school on a virtual day?

To be considered "present," students must record their attendance on a Google Form or by calling their respective attendance line no later than 10:30AM. Please find the link to the attendance forms by visiting www.exetersd.org/fid.

What if we have a power/internet failure or my child is sick and can't do his/her work?

You may call your respective school's attendance line if your child is sick or if you are experiencing significant power or internet outages and cannot record attendance or access and complete schoolwork:
  • High School: 610-779-3060, press 2
  • Junior High: 610-779-3320, press 2
  • Reiffton: 610-779-7640, press 2
  • Jacksonwald: 610-779-1820, press 2
  • Lorane: 610-582-8608, press 2
  • Owatin Creek: 610-406-4580, press 2

What if my child experiences technical issues accessing or submitting assignments?

Please call 610-898-9585 to contact a Technology Support Specialist. If a person does not answer, please leave a message and someone will return your call.

Are teachers able to help my child with his/her schoolwork?

Yes! All teachers and professional staff members will be available via email (directories below) or ParentSquare messages during the virtual day. In addition, all teachers will have two designated times (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) when they can be reached live online for further help or questions. Teachers will send out their optional Google Meet link along with their contact information on the virtual day through ParentSquare.

Email addresses for staff members are available on each school's website under the "directory" tab:
